La Puente: VACCINE & WELLNESS CLINIC

March 14

La Puente Community Center, 501 Glendora Ave, La Puente, CA 91744

The CITY OF LA PUENTE & HEART have partnered together to bring these much needed free & low-cost, high quality pet healthcare services to the community on the second Thursday of every month, 9am – 12pm.  You must arrive no later than 12pm.  Late arrivals will not be accepted.  Depending on the extent of care needed for each pet, there may be a longer wait than expected, so we appreciate your patience.

WE SEE CATS ONLY FROM 9am – 10am and dogs starting at 10am; however, if we finish seeing all cats before 10am, we will start seeing dogs.

Pet owners from any city are welcomed to attend.

If your pet has ever been vaccinated in the past, please BRING YOUR VACCINE RECORDS with you to the clinic!

All dogs must be on leashes and all cats must be in secured pet carriers.  (No cardboard boxes allowed).

We recommend that you bring a water bowl for your pet to reduce the chance of it overheating, even if the outdoor temperature is not real hot.

If you have a brachycephalic dog such as a Pug, Pekingese, Bull Dog, Boston Terrier, Shih Tzu,  Brussels Griffon, Bullmastiff, Cane Corso, Chow Chow, Boxer, Dogue de Bordeaux, or other “flat-faced” dog, please advise our staff upon your arrival at the clinic so that we may attend to your pet promptly, as these breeds tend to overheat quickly from either warm temperatures or excitement, which can pose an immediate and life-threatening danger to them.

Thanks to the generous support from the City of La Puente, pet owners who reside in the INCORPORATED areas of La Puente will receive pet services at specially reduced prices!  (See below).

HEART is also extending special discounts on certain services (as noted below) to residents who live in the unincorporated areas of La Puente.  If a special price is not listed, then our regular clinic price applies.

PROOF OF RESIDENCY IN LA PUENTE MUST BE PRESENTED AT THE CLINIC IN ORDER TO RECEIVE THE SPECIAL DISCOUNTED RATES LISTED BELOW.

The following prices are CASH ONLY prices.  Credit & debit cards, PayPal and Apple Pay and are accepted, but a $5 transaction fee will be charged for each transaction.  We do not accept checks.

*  It is strongly recommended that fecal tests for Giardia and other OVA & Parasites be performed on pets at least twice a year.  Simply bring a stool sample with you for this important and affordable service by following these steps:

>  Stool samples should be as fresh as possible and collected on the same day that the sample is brought to us for testing.

>  Always wear disposable gloves while collecting a stool sample.  This is a good safety measure to prevent any accidental direct contact with the sample.

>  Place the sample in a sealed zip lock bag, then place that bag inside a second securely sealed zip lock bag.  Write your name and your pet’s name on the outer bag with a black permanent marker.  Keep the sample inside a refrigerator or in a container with iceDo NOT allow the sample to become frozen.

>  Fecal tests are performed through an outside laboratory.  We usually receive the results within 24 hours, at which time we will contact you with the results, including emailing you a copy of the lab report.  In the event your pet is positive for any intestinal parasites or Giardia, we will prescribe the proper medication by phoning in a prescription to an online pharmacy of your choice.

Although we have never needed to exercise our right to refuse service to anyone for any reason, we do reserve that right.  We care very much about the health and welfare of all pets and their owners, so we ask that the rules we have implemented be followed to help ensure everyone’s safety and well-being.

We treat your pet as if it was our own.  We use only high quality products and provide quality and compassionate care.  Thank you for trusting us to help keep your beloved companion healthy, and at the same time, helping protect your family and the entire community.
