SAFE HAVEN FOR PETS & PACKS PROGRAM

We are extremely grateful for the support from our generous and compassionate partners. We wish to give special thanks to the California Foundation for Stronger Communities, Mary Jo &HankGreenberg Welfare Foundation, Petco Love, Pralle Krotts Family Foundation, and to all of the other wonderful organizations and individuals whose contributions have enabled us to continue our work bringing crucially needed services to pets and people through our  unique and valuable “Safe Haven for Pets & Packs Program”.

This program has proven to be a key element in removing a significant barrier which has, until now, kept many  homeless pet owners from seeking the essential help needed to move forward on a positive and productive path.

Our program is designed to help keep beloved pets and their human companions together to share a long, higher quality of life. This is achieved by keeping pets healthy and safe through boarding and healthcare services at no charge while owners undergo medical or mental health care treatment, attend school or vocational training, or go to doctor or other appointments. (There may be additional qualifying situations, determined on an individual basis).

Pet services under this program may include some or all of the following (prior to your pet’s stay at the boarding facility)
* Vaccinations
* Microchips
* Internal & External Parasite Control Medication
* Fecal Testing
* Nail Trims
* Anal Gland Expressions
* Assistance with Spaying/Neutering
* Emotional Support Animal (“ESA”) Certification
(Pet owners must provide appropriate letters from their doctors or mental health care providers and meet other certain eligibility requirements of HEART to qualify for ESA Certification)

To be considered for this program pet owners must:

– Be experiencing homelessness in Orange County, California or be a U.S. veteran residing in Orange County, California
