PLACENTIA: SPAY & NEUTER CLINIC

March 23

Placentia Civic Center: 401 E Chapman Ave, Placentia, CA 92870

High-Quality, Low-Cost Dog & Cat Spay & Neuter Clinic.

This clinic has been made possible by the generosity of OC Animal Allies (“OCAA”) and is held exclusively for pet owners referred and qualified by OCAA.  We thank this amazing organization for its support in bringing these crucially needed services to pet owners in the community.

All pets must be microchipped to qualify for our spay/neuter services.  The prices shown below are for pets already microchipped.  Please add $15 to the spay/neuter price if we will be microchipping your pet at the time of surgery.  The $15 fee also includes the permanent microchip enrollment fee.

*  Cat Neuter:    $145
*  Cat Spay:       $185
*  Dog Neuter:   $275
*  Dog Spay:      $350

Appointments are required and the number of appointments we schedule is limited.  A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required which is applied to your total cost.  Non-refundable deposits are also kept for any missed appointments (cancellations or no-shows).

If you have a voucher from one of our partners, you are responsible to pay any additional copay (if applicable) which may be required by that organization.

Our Spay & Neuter Clinics are offered to pet owners having a financial hardship which prevents them from affording these services at a regular veterinary hospital.  Please do not make an appointment if you are able to afford to have your pet spayed/neutered at a regular pet hospital so that you don’t take the place of someone else who is truly in dire need of our services. (We may request proof of annual household income or other qualifying documentation).

All pets must be current on their vaccinations. (Dogs:  Rabies, DHPP & Bordetella  /  Cats:  Rabies & FVRCP and FeLV is strongly recommended).

Pets must arrive between 7:00 am – 7:30 am.  Late arrivals might not be accepted and pets on our waiting list will then be accepted.  Pets will be discharged the same day of surgery and we will notify you when your pet is ready to be released. Please make sure that you provide us with your best contact number when you arrive so that we can reach you the first time we call or text you.

Do NOT give your pet any food past midnight the night before surgery, and please keep your pet away from toys or other items which it may possibly chew and ingest prior to the surgery.

We will not accept pets with fleas or ticks.  Therefore, we ask that you apply or administer a flea & tick control medication to your pet within 30 days prior to your scheduled appointment.

We are unable to accept pets weighing over 50 pounds or any which are too tall or too long to fit on our surgery table.  Pets must be healthy and we do not accept pets under 2 pounds or younger than 4 months old or brachycephalic (flat-faced) pets (breeds such as a Pug, Bulldog, Pekingese, Boston Terrier, Shih Tzu, Boxer, Brussels Griffon, Bullmastiff, Cane Corso, Chow Chow, Dogue de Bordeaux, Persian cat, or other pets which may have brachycephalic features).

The prices shown above generally include the following services:

*  Pre-surgical exam
*  General anesthesia
*  Routine surgeries
*  Cryptorchid surgeries
*  Pets in heat
*  Tattoo near incision site
*  Repair of hernia (if needed)
*  Nail trim  (if needed)
*  Antibiotic injection (if needed)
*  Pain medication for dogs (injection during surgery; oral medication sent home)
*  Pain medication for cats (topical medication applied at clinic which lasts 4 days)
*  Betsy E-collar sent home with owner ***
*  Removal of deciduous canines (baby teeth) (if needed)
*  Removal of unattached dew claws (if needed)
*  Certificate of Sterility
*  Post surgical care instructions w/emergency pet hospital list

*** The E-collars we provide are the standard Elizabethan plastic, cone-shaped collars to be worn around the pet’s neck which covers the sides of the pet’s face to help prevent the pet from being able to chew or lick at its surgical incision.  These E-collars tend to be “clumsy” for some pets to wear.  Many pets, especially cats, will not tolerate wearing an E-collar.  There are other alternatives which you may want to try, including a Pet Recovery Suit which is comfortable and normally well tolerated by the pet; however, each pet is different and a pet could possibly manage to get out of it or potentially chew through the suit, so you must determine what might be best for your pet.

If you purchase your own E-collar or recovery suit from a pet supply store, you must have it ready to place on your pet as soon as you arrive home with your pet after surgery.  We also have pet recovery suits which may be available to purchase for $5 – $8 at our clinic, but please check with our staff at time of dropping off your pet.
