** TUSTIN: Pet Spay & Neuter Clinic
September 18
OC Animal Care, 1630 Victory Rd, Tustin, CA 92782
High-Quality, Low-Cost Dog & Cat Spay & Neuter Clinic
This clinic has been made possible by the generosity of OC Animal Allies. We thank this amazing organization for its support in bringing these crucially needed services to pet owners in the community.
All pets that do not have microchips will be microchipped at the time of surgery.
All pets must be current on their vaccinations. (Dogs: Rabies, DHPP & Bordetella / Cats: Rabies, FVRCP & FeLV). Proof must be provided at the time your appointment is scheduled. HEART offers low-cost vaccinations at its mobile vaccine clinics which are held on specific days at various locations as shown on our website Calendar.
Pets must arrive between 7:00 am – 7:30 am. Late arrivals might not be accepted and pets on our waiting list will then be accepted. Pets will be discharged the same day of surgery and we will notify you when your pet is ready to be released. Please make sure that you provide us with your best contact number when you arrive so that we can reach you the first time we call or text you.
Do NOT give your pet any food past midnight the night before surgery, and please keep your pet away from toys or other items which it may possibly chew and ingest prior to the surgery.
We will not accept pets with fleas or ticks. Therefore, we ask that you apply or administer a flea & tick control medication to your pet within 30 days prior to your scheduled appointment.
We are unable to accept pets weighing over 50 pounds or any which are too tall or too long to fit on our surgery table. Pets must be healthy and we do not accept pets under 2 pounds, younger than 2 months old, or brachycephalic (flat-faced) pets (breeds such as a Pug, Bulldog, Pekingese, Boston Terrier, Shih Tzu, Boxer, Brussels Griffon, Bullmastiff, Cane Corso, Chow Chow, Dogue de Bordeaux, Persian cat, or other pets which may have brachycephalic features).
Our spay & neuter services include the following for all pets:
* Pre-surgical exam
* General anesthesia
* Routine surgeries
* Cryptorchid surgeries
* Pets in heat
* Tattoo near incision site
* Repair of hernia (if needed)
* Nail trim (if needed)
* Antibiotic injection (if needed)
* Pain injection
* Pain medication sent home with owner
* Betsy E-collar sent home with owner **
* Removal of deciduous canines (baby teeth) (if needed)
* Removal of unattached dew claws (if needed)
* Certificate of Sterility
* Post surgical care instructions w/emergency pet hospital list
** A “Pet Recovery Suit” is often a great alternative to using the usual E-collar. Many pets, especially cats, will not accept wearing an E-collar, while a Pet Recovery Suit is comfortable and normally very well tolerated by the pet; however, each pet is different and a pet could potentially chew through the suit, so you must determine what would be best for your pet.
If you purchase a Pet Recovery Suit from a pet supply store, please bring it with you when you arrive at our clinic. We will also have them available at the clinic for purchase at our cost.
