TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT, PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON OUR WEBSITE AT:

https://heart4pets.org/schedule-an-appointment/

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A COMPUTER OR IF YOU REQUIRE A TRANSLATOR, PLEASE CALL THE CITY OF LA PUENTE FOR ASSISTANCE AT (626) 855-1555.

You will be given an appointment time “slot”.  Please do not show up before that time frame.

If your pet has ever received vaccines in the past, please bring those records with you to your appointment.

All dogs must be on leashes and all cats must be in secured pet carriers.  (No cardboard boxes allowed).

We recommend that you bring a water bowl for your pet to reduce the chance of it overheating, even if the outdoor temperature is not real hot.

If you have a brachycephalic dog (such as a Pug, Pekingese, Bull Dog, Boston Terrier, Shih Tzu,  Brussels Griffon, Bullmastiff, Cane Corso, Chow Chow, Boxer, Dogue de Bordeaux, or other “flat-faced” dog), please advise our staff upon your arrival at the clinic so that we may attend to your pet appropriately, as these breeds tend to overheat quickly from either warm temperatures or excitement, which can pose an immediate and life-threatening danger to them.

*  Fecal Tests:  It is strongly recommended that fecal tests for OVA Parasites & Giardia be performed on pets at least twice a year.  Simply bring a stool sample with you for this affordable service by following these steps:

Stool samples should be as fresh as possible and collected on the same day that the sample is brought to us for testing.

Always wear disposable gloves while collecting a stool sample.  This is a good safety measure to prevent any accidental direct contact with the sample.

Place the sample in a sealed zip lock bag, then place that bag inside a second securely sealed zip lock bag.  Write your name and your pet’s name on the outer bag with a black permanent marker.  Keep the sample inside a refrigerator or in a container with ice.  Do NOT allow the sample to become frozen.

Fecal tests are performed through an outside laboratory.  We usually receive the results within 24 hours, at which time we will contact you with the results, including emailing you a copy of the lab report.  In the event your pet is positive for any intestinal parasites or Giardia, we will  prescribe the proper medication by phoning in a prescription to an online pharmacy of your choice.

Although we have never needed to exercise our right to refuse service to anyone for any reason, we do reserve that right.  We care very much about the health and welfare of all pets and their owners, so we have implemented rules which require compliance to help ensure everyone’s safety and well-being.

We treat your pet as if it was our own, using high quality products and providing high quality and compassionate care.  We thank you for your trust in us to provide these essential services which will help keep your beloved companion healthy and help protect your family and your community.
